Construction in Killearn Acres began in the late 1970s and continued through the 1980s and 1990s, creating a community with mature landscaping, large trees, and plenty of variety. Unlike “cookie-cutter” subdivisions, homes here are built in a wide range of styles and materials—wood, brick, stone, vinyl siding, and Hardie board.

The neighborhood is dominated by the classic 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom floor plan, though options include 3/2.5, 4/2, and 4/2.5 layouts. Many homes feature fireplaces, and about 6% include a private pool. Storage sheds are common in backyards, and some owners have enclosed garages to create additional living space.
