Betton
The Betton community lies between Thomasville Road and Centerville Road, one of Tallahassee’s most established and desirable areas. Originally developed in the late 1940s, Betton has grown steadily as new streets and homes were added over time, blending historic charm with modern convenience.
About Betton
The community is made up of two neighborhoods: Betton Woods and Betton Hills, the latter being among the oldest and most well-known neighborhoods in Tallahassee.
Betton Hills features nearly 800 homes ranging from about 2,200 to 5,300 square feet, with prices typically between $150,000 and $735,000.
Residents enjoy close proximity to several parks, including Winthrop Park, Guyte B. McCord Park, Harriman Circle Park, Chittenden Park, and the Betton Nature Center. Whether it’s outdoor sports, children’s playgrounds, scenic walking trails, or simply relaxing in nature, Betton offers something for everyone.
The neighborhood also takes pride in hosting annual gatherings and family-friendly events such as Easter egg hunts, Arbor Day celebrations, Christmas caroling, and community-wide garage sales.
Families living in Betton are zoned for Kate Sullivan Elementary School, Cobb Middle School, and Leon High School, three well-respected local schools.
One of the area’s most distinctive features is its lush landscaping and towering canopy trees. The homeowners’ association actively encourages tree planting, supported by a variety of nearby nurseries such as Native Nurseries, Purple Martin Nurseries, Tallahassee Nurseries, and Esposito Garden Center.
Location & Convenience
Betton is centrally located with quick access to downtown Tallahassee, I-10, both major hospitals, restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment. Residents are just minutes away from popular destinations like Governor’s Square Mall, The Centre of Tallahassee, Publix, Fresh Market, Hobby Lobby, Stein Mart, Books-A-Million, Costco, and Bass Pro Shop. Daily errands and leisure activities are always close at hand.
